Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognising Skills. Certifying Experience. Creating Opportunities.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment and certification process that formally recognises the skills and competencies individuals have acquired through work experience, informal learning, traditional practices, or other forms of experiential learning.
RPL enables skilled individuals to have their existing competencies assessed against nationally recognised occupational standards and receive certification aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
For the Home Management and Caregiving sector, RPL provides an opportunity to recognise the experience and skills of individuals who may have developed their competencies through years of practical work but have not received formal certification.

Certify skilled workers against nationally recognised occupational standards.
Improve employability by providing formal recognition of workplace competencies.
Enable progression towards higher levels of skill development and career opportunities.
Promote dignity and professional recognition for workers in the home management and caregiving sector.
Support inclusive skilling by bringing experienced and traditionally skilled workers into the formal skilling ecosystem.
